Book review by Queen Charlotte

Queen Charlotte is a book that will leave you emotionally drained in the best way possible. The love story of King George III and Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz is one that will stay with you long after you turn the final page.

As a fan of Julia Quinn and Shonda Rhimes, I was excited to read Queen Charlotte after watching the show. However, I was disappointed to find that the book was almost identical to the series. It felt like the script was simply copied and pasted into the pages with a few additional internal thoughts. If you’ve watched the show, you’ve essentially read the book.

That being said, Queen Charlotte is still a great little escape. It’s a love story that will make you laugh, cry, and swoon. Charlotte’s fiery personality and independence are a perfect match for King George III’s secret-ridden life. Watching her navigate the intricate politics of the British Court while guarding her heart and falling in love with the King is a journey that will keep you engaged from start to finish.

One of the strengths of Queen Charlotte is the author’s ability to capture the essence of the time period. The portrayal of the British Court and society in the 18th century is incredibly vivid and immersive. It’s evident that the author has done her research and taken great care to create an authentic atmosphere.

While there are some disappointing aspects of the book, such as its lack of originality, it’s still a great read. It’s an emotional rollercoaster that will make you feel deeply invested in the lives of the characters.

Final verdict

In conclusion, if you’re a fan of historical romance and love stories, Queen Charlotte is definitely a book you should read. However, if you’ve already watched the Netflix show, don’t expect anything vastly different. This is a great book to escape into and experience the tumultuous love story of King George III and Queen Charlotte. Just be sure to have some tissues nearby.
